Save the date and join EBAYC on November 10 as we celebrate 40 years of services to youth, families and our community!
“Growing up in Oakland makes you grow up much quicker than you should. I don’t know where I would be without EBAYC.” – J’Shaun Eggans
“While students in Oakland face a lot of obstacles in their life, I truly believe they are resilient and I want them to know that for themselves.” – Noelle Duong, Garfield Elementary School teacher
Our after-school program science curriculum at Garfield Elementary School trains youth to be “mini-scientists” in a collaborative, fun, and supportive environment.
Over the years, EBAYC has touched and transformed lives. Whether they are former volunteers or students, our alumni continues to embody the spirit of EBAYC as they move on and seek greater and better endeavors.
EBAYC has been engaged in an on-going effort to eradicate street-level prostitution along International Boulevard through visibility actions, demand-reduction campaigns, and hot spot policing. Our collective efforts were instrumental in closing a local motel where prostitution activity was prevalent.
Recidivism among young people who participate in EBAYC is reduced by over 50%. Young people also demonstrate improved school attendance, decreased school suspensions, and earn early dismissals from court-ordered probation as a result of their participation.
